Position Description:

Designs enterprise business processes, workflows, and user interfaces. Develops data analysis concepts and associated tools (SQL). Creates stories and epics for squad deliverables. Engages with multiple business units to adopt technology and helps drive processes, workflows, and engineering efforts. Identifies root cause and solves problems across tools, using structured, disciplined, and data-oriented processes. Provides analysis leadership on complex systems analysis projects, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization. Consults with business users to develop recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conducts interviews with business users to gather requirements and analyzes technology needs and system and workflow challenges.
  • Develops recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems analysis projects and defines project scope.
  • Leads the execution of documents on large and complex projects and monitors the quality and progress of documents created by other analysts.
  • Leads and participates in the definition of test strategies, and coordinates user acceptance testing efforts.
  • Communicates progress of multiple projects to management, engages stakeholders on a regular basis, and manages expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serves as industry subject matter expert and identifies other subject matter experts who are the sources of requirements for large and complex projects.
  • Works with other teams to evolve standards and best practices for systems analysis processes.
  • Participates in incident/crisis management to assess business impact, determine/facilitate any workarounds, in concert with the production support organization.
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies.
  • Coaches and mentor junior product analysts and developers on systems analysis techniques and business workflows.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing full-stack systems design and analysis in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing full-stack systems design and analysis in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing full-stack systems analysis and design -- gathering requirements and documentation, producing systems flowcharts, performing data mining and functional design, and articulating both business and technical needs as functional and non-functional user stories—using Jira, ServiceNow, WinSCP, Putty, and Microsoft Visio.
  • DE analyzing and validating complex stocks data sets from multiple data sources for business operations using SQL and Tableau in Oracle relational databases; and improving data quality and cleaning data using Alteryx.
  • DE performing continuous improvement within the squad by identifying areas of improvement, optimizing existing process, and mitigating recurring issues following Agile development methodologies using Jenkins; implementing enhancements, data/bug fixes and project build using Jira; and coordinating with stakeholders and downstream systems to resolve cross system dependent tickets, facilitating data sharing, and meeting business demands.
  • DE guiding systems integration using solution/program increment planning road map, creating features in Jira, and collaborating with technology partners to refine the stories and prioritize business requirements; and acting as a liaison between business and technology partners to derive systems solutions for business needs using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) processes.
