Principal System Engineer/Enterprise Architect

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain a model-based IT enterprise architecture.
• Work closely with IT Enterprise Architects to determine model views and gather needed data.
• Work with partners that are unfamiliar with modeling and help them translate their IT architecture into a model.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including content providers, content consumers, developers, engineers, and business analysts.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

• Location: On-site
• Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
• Working Hours: Standard

Required Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
• B.S. degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (M.S. preferred); and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proficient in Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Model-Based Systems Engineering, with proven experience translating concepts into SysML or UML.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., UAF, TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF).
• Excellent communication skills for technical writing, oral briefings, and executive-level products.
• Ability to consider IT architecture issues from many different perspectives.
• Passion for staying up to date with industry trends and advancements.

Desired Qualifications:

• Six to ten years of experience working with or in the Intelligence Community (IC).
• SysML Model Builder Intermediate or SysML Model Builder Advanced certification.
• Experience analyzing compliance with an IT Enterprise Architecture.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., MagicDraw, Rational Rhapsody, Cameo, Genesys, etc.).

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Basic Compensation:

$148,900 - $223,400

This range is for the Maryland area only

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
