As a System Engineer, you will lead the system architecture and requirements definition for advanced telematics products. You’ll work closely with global teams and customers to translate complex needs into robust, scalable system designs that power next-generation in-vehicle connectivity.
What You Will Do
- Define and decompose system requirements based on customer needs, internal standards, and communication protocols
- Lead technical discussions with customers and internal teams to align on requirements and propose innovative solutions
- Design system architecture and create technical documentation (e.g., state diagrams, communication sequences)
- Act as the primary technical interface with customers for requirement discussions and change management
- Support vehicle testing activities both internally and externally
- Collaborate with project managers and functional leads to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
- Works closely with global engineering teams across software, hardware, and validation
What You Need
- Proven experience in software design and development for commercial products
- Strong project management skills in software development environments
- Proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) for customer communication
- Business-level English for collaboration with global teams
What is Nice to Have
- Knowledge of telematics systems and wireless communication technologies (Wi-Fi, 4G/LTE/5G, Bluetooth)
- Experience with in-vehicle networks (CAN, Ethernet)
- Background in embedded systems design
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA
