We are seeking an experienced z/OS System Db2 Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the installation, system administration, configuration, and end-to-end software lifecycle management of Db2 components across enterprise mainframe environments. You will leverage modern infrastructure tools and enterprise-approved AI productivity tools to streamline workflows, optimize system performance, maintain high availability, and support disaster recovery processes across multi-LPAR and SysPlex configurations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, configure, and manage the full product lifecycle of Db2 software and related Db2 ISV software tools in a large z/System environment
• Configure and use SMP/E to manage system software, apply vendor fixes (HIPER, PTFs, APARs, Service Packs), and execute software upgrades across Dev, Test, and Production environments
• Manage Db2 logging, storage groups, buffer pool performance tuning, and System Recovery / Disaster Recovery capabilities including GDPS integration
• Define and maintain Data Sharing environments, including DB2 SysPlex and subsystem incorporation into LPAR IPLs
• Monitor enterprise z/System performance using tools such as Omegamon, MXG, and Splunk to proactively research root causes and optimize subsystem stability
• Leverage enterprise-approved AI productivity tools to analyze system data, recap technical discussions, automate tasks, and recommend solutions
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and provide technical support during critical incident response ("War Room") scenarios
• Generate technical documentation for Operations and Technical Help Desk teams to ensure seamless operational support and post-implementation validation

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience configuring SMP/E, managing Db2 logging, executing disaster recovery (including GDPS), allocating storage groups, and supporting Db2 SysPlex environments
• 10+ years of mainframe systems experience, with a focus on Db2 Software Administration and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) in large z/System environments (90,000+ MIPs, multiple LPARs, Multiple SysPlex)
• Experience using enterprise z/System monitoring tools (Omegamon, MXG, Splunk) and participating in ITSM processes (Incident, Change Management)
• Experience applying all types of vendor Db2 fixes and managing support tickets with software vendors
• Experience leveraging enterprise-approved AI tools and digital assistants to analyze data, streamline daily workflows, and draft communications
• Proficiency with z/OS fundamentals, including TSO/ISPF, JCL job stream creation/modification, zFS file systems, and dataset allocations (PDS/PDSE, VSAM)
• Ability to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and work effectively under pressure in cross-functional incident response scenarios

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience automating administrative processes using zOSMF
• Familiarity with Configuration Manager and enterprise Db2 ISV software (BMC AMI, AbendAid for DB2, FileAid, DASDManager Plus, High-Speed Apply Engine, High Performance Unload, Db2 Log Analysis Tool)
• Familiarity or working awareness of Qlink Replication across non-z/System environments

The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
