As Principal Statistical Programmer - R&D within our B&P Global Programming, You’ll As a Senior R Clinical Analytics Specialist (CAS), you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of multiple, complex R-based packages and RShiny applications. You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior CAS members, and drive innovation in R package and RShiny development practices.

Main responsibilities:

• Collaborate with junior Clinical Analytics Specialist, Statistical Scientists, project leads and other stakeholders to design, develop, document, and maintain multiple, complex R-based packages and RShiny applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Mentor junior CAS members, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to foster their professional growth and ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and propose technical solutions aligned with business objectives.

• Drive innovation in R package and RShiny development practices, exploring new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.

• Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and guidelines for R package and RShiny development within the team.

• Conduct performance optimizations and code refactoring to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of R-based software solutions.

• Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in R programming language, data visualization, and web application development, and integrate new technologies into existing solutions as appropriate.

About you

• Experience: Experience in R and Shiny programming, in a clinical data environment across multiple therapeutic areas.

• Soft and technical skills: Proven track record of successfully developing, implementing, and maintaining complex R based analytic solutions.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with agile software development methodologies and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira), version control systems (e.g., Git), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Education: Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.

• Languages: Strong English skills (verbal and written), ability to exchange fluently in a global environment.
