Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Communications Electronics Engineer​ to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future.  This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

**This position may be filled by either at the Principal Communications Electronics Engineer​ level OR at the Sr. Principal Communications Electronics Engineer​level based on the qualifications listed.**

The successful candidate will be the primary interface between our technical engineering team and program test organizations in support of program critical test events and milestones.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Define communication architectures for System simulation efforts

  • Perform modeling and analysis of communication networks using Cameo, HFSS, EMIT, and STK in support of antenna placement and cosite analysis.

  • Analyze network architectures and topologies for distributed communication applications 

  • Conduct trade studies for radio and ICS subsystem architectures.

  • Interaction with Comms suppliers for integration of Radio and ICS systems into the lab.

  • Authoring of Supplier Statements of Work, Source Control Documentation, and Interface Control Documents. 

  • Provide lab integration and test.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Communications Electronics Engineer​ (T03)

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance 

Basic Qualifications:

Sr. Principal Communications Electronics Engineer​ (T04)

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in communications system integration and test

  • Familiarity with common industry standards related to communications systems, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-232, IPv4/IPv6

  • Experience with Networking infrastructure at both the Layer 2 and Layer 3 IP levels for VOIP implementations

  • Experience with RF based test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
