Job Summary:
Infios is seeking a high-impact Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of enterprise-grade, cloud-native platforms. As a senior technical leader, you will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and high performing systems built using modern distributed technologies.

What a day in the life looks like:
Technical Leadership
- Architect and design highly scalable, distributed, cloud-native systems using Python (3.11+), FastAPI, and asynchronous microservices.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex features across the Order Management ecosystem, prioritizing low-latency performance and high concurrency.
- Define engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines tailored for asynchronous Python and event-driven workflows.
- Influence product and architectural roadmaps through deep technical insight and the strategic integration of AI Agents(Claude, OpenAI) into the development lifecycle.
Engineering Excellence
- Build enterprise-grade microservices and APIs with high performance, security, and reliability using FastAPI
- Drive real-time, event-driven architecture (EDA) implementations using Apache Kafka for resilient, decoupled system communication and high-throughput data streaming.
- Architect efficient data models with MongoDB and optimize high-speed caching and session management using Redis.
- AI-Augmented Development: Leverage GitHub Copilot and Claude to accelerate the SDLC, from complex refactoring and documentation to automated unit test generation.
- Ensure quality through rigorous code reviews, architecture audits, and automated testing strategies using Pytest.
Cloud & DevOps Ownership
- Lead AWS cloud deployment strategies, leveraging services such as EKS (Kubernetes), Lambda, SNS/SQS, and RDS/MongoDB.
- Implement robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate containerized deployments, security scanning, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Design and maintain full-stack observability (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) and scalable infrastructure patterns.
Collaboration & Influence
- Work cross-functionally across teams, geographies, and time zones.
- Partner with product managers, solution architects, QA, and DevOps to ensure seamless delivery.
- Facilitate technical discussions, design sessions, and decision-making forums.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Coach and mentor senior and junior engineers, enabling skill growth and technical depth.
- Promote strong engineering culture, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Champion best practices to reduce technical debt and total cost of ownership.
What you bring to the team:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with increasing leadership responsibility in distributed environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, including FastAPI, advanced AsyncIO patterns, REST API design, and performance profiling/tuning of Pythonic services.
- Proven experience architecting and developing microservices and highly available distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on experience working with: RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis)
- Deep experience with Kafka or other event streaming platforms for building resilient, real-time data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of cloud architectures (AWS/GCP) and services such as EKS, Lambda, S3, networking, serverless, and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus).
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration for managing scalable Python workloads.
- Modern Engineering Workflows: Strong experience leveraging AI Agents (Claude, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development and GitHub Actions for robust CI/CD automation.
- Solid knowledge of software design patterns, algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.
- Strong experience driving engineering excellence—test coverage (Pytest), automation, code reviews, and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
