What do we need
Dotmatics is seeking a talented and experienced Principal Software Engineer and Architect who is excited to join a world class team to lead the end-to-end technical direction for image compression systems, including architecture definition, design, and implementation.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software products and algorithms for efficient data analysis and management. You will work with the team to push the envelope on creating novel and sophisticated algorithms with global impact in advancing data analytics in life sciences.
In this role you will get to
- Lead the technical execution to deliver software products for image compression, decompression, and visualization
- Lead the design and development of scalable enterprise and desktop software solutions that manage massive amounts of data for PMI’s biopharma customers
- Evaluate and drive explicit trade-offs between compression efficiency, performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Drive engineering excellence across coding standards, code reviews, testing, and security
- Serve as a technical leader within an agile environment, driving disciplined execution of agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups
- Work with cross-functional teams across the globe to ensure high-quality product delivery and maintenance for PMI customers
- Manage and lead a software engineering team by setting clear technical direction, providing consistent performance feedback, and guiding engineers through execution plans to achieve their goals.
We are looking for an experienced software engineer and technical leader with an advanced degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 12+ years of experience. You bring strong expertise in systems architecture, algorithm development, and high-performance software, along with a proven ability to lead teams and deliver scalable, reliable solutions in an agile environment.
The key skills we are looking for:
- C or C++ and one scripting language (Python)
- Algorithm development and optimization
- Web-based application architecture and development (ReactJS, NodeJS, database)
- Real time performance optimization and parallel processing such as multi-threading and GPU (scalability, robustness)
You may also have:
- Agile Methodologies
- Cloud-based system architecture (primarily AWS)
- SQL Databases
