Kantar, the leading provider of media analytics and marketing accountability solutions for brand marketers, is eager to engage with an experienced, creative, hardworking, and self-motivated Principal Software Engineer (.NET Developer)!

Kantar delivers comprehensive digital solutions to help advertisers, agencies and publishers increase marketing effectiveness and drive brand growth. Integrated behavioral and attitudinal solutions help marketers identify, understand and engage consumers, plan and optimize media and increase total brand performance. Kantar operates within North America and is part of WPP’s data investment management division.

Job Goals

  • Support, develop, and maintain applications using Microsoft .Net/C# and supporting technologies

  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance group to assist in developing test plans and scripts or even perform testing on applications

  • Assess and troubleshoot reported application defects and issues while identifying false positives and operator errors

  • Closely Follow standard agile development best practices and standards

  • Provide application-to-database support for DBAs and collaborate on optimizing application query performance                                               

  • Work closely and diligently with the product development team to resolve bugs and defects relating to our applications

  • Follow, support and optimize the Kantar Ignite processes and supporting applications

  • Provide guidance and estimates for project development efforts

  • Work directly with application stakeholders to determine requirement and project scopes

  • Help maintain documentation for development architecture, process flow and data sources

Ideal Skills & Capabilities

  • Expertise in Microsoft Technologies (15+ years of hands-on): Proficient in C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, and advanced SQL, with strong capability to design, develop and optimise solutions across these platforms.

  • Advanced Web and Data Integration: Hands-on experience building and securing ASP.NET web applications, including in-depth knowledge of web security best practices, and skilled in using SOAP/REST web services with XML and JSON for data exchange.

  • Complex Data Handling: Demonstrated ability to efficiently parse, transfer, and process large files and datasets, leveraging SQL and ETL techniques for robust data management and analytics.

  • Modern Software Development Practices: Familiarity with multi-threaded application design, the Task Parallel Library, asynchronous programming, as well as object-oriented principles and agile development methodologies.

  • Client-Side and Database Development: Strong skills in JavaScript, JQuery, and constructing complex queries and stored procedures for Microsoft SQL, ensuring high-performance, responsive, and scalable application solutions.

  • Flexible to work in EST Time Zone.

  • Proven ability to independently drive projects forward, showing initiative in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Expert understanding of data transfer protocols and methodologies, enabling seamless integration and data flow across systems.

  • Flexible and adaptable approach, effectively managing a varied workload and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.

  • Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills, able to plan new initiatives and troubleshoot complex challenges with confidence.

  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for application platforms, ensuring continuous improvement and high standards of delivery.
