Position Summary:


Director, Software Engineering at Perforce is searching for a Principal Software Engineer to join the Helix Core Cloud. The Principal Software Engineer will have extensive experience in software engineering with the ability to build robust, scalable, and high-performance solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business. 


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Experience and/or interest in working with multiple programming languages is an asset. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work within a cross-functional team
  • At least 10+ years' experience with end-to-end design, development, delivery and operations of multi-tenant SaaS products across one or more public clouds such as AWS, Azure, GCP etc. 
  • Highly desirable to have a solutions architect or similar certification from a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Proven experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, diagnosis and remediation for multi-tenant SaaS applications deployed on a public cloud
  • Solid understanding of modern cloud applications and concepts, such as fault tolerance, compliance, scalability, and consistency, cost optimization for cloud applications.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation in a collaborative and distributed team environment
  • Proven experience with microservices based architectures, containerized applications & developing hyperscale cost effective cloud applications 
  • Impeccable problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand and address complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively partner with Product Management and Engineering Leadership across time zones and geographies.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and support development team members with design and development, institute and implement best practices on the technical side.
  • Hands-on with writing efficient, and maintainable code using Go Lang, 
  • Nodejs and React with knowledge of Terraform for deployment.
  • Participate in high level system design and implementation of significant new features.
  • Continuously review and make recommendations to improve processes, tools and implementation 
  • Collaborate with other engineers to develop and enhance a wide range of static code analysis tools.
  • Provide task estimates and accurately report progress as part of an Agile process. 
  • Proficiency with efficient algorithm design, data structures and design patterns.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Identify and troubleshoot software defects and performance bottlenecks. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to improve software development processes and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development methodologies and practices within the team
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams stakeholders and leadership.
  • May be required to support additional products/brands as needed.
