Job Description Summary:
Responsible for UI architecture, coding, testing, and building high-performance, accessible, and scalable web applications that meet the needs of millions of global sellers within the Marketplace Seller Success Organisation, focusing on driving business growth, onboarding, and overall seller experience.

About Team:
This is the team for the Marketplace Seller Success Organisation. We ensure our marketplace sellers have a seamless, predictable, and frictionless experience as they onboard, manage, and scale their businesses on Walmart's platform. We build reusable, resilient, and responsive client-side architectures, micro-frontends, and user interfaces that help sellers grow their business, optimize their performance, and manage their storefront tools effortlessly.

Our team is responsible for the design, development, and operations of web applications used in the day-to-day operations of Walmart’s Marketplace Sellers. We focus on developing modular micro-frontends and high-performance web applications leveraged by business owners and sellers globally. We interact with multiple product, design, and backend API teams across the company to provide scalable, robust technical solutions that empower our seller community.

What you'll do:

• Through this role, you have an opportunity to develop intuitive, pixel-perfect, and accessible software that meets and exceeds the needs of our marketplace sellers and the company.
• You will be responsible for the design, frontend architecture, and end-to-end delivery of one or more seller-facing web systems/products while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• You will estimate effort, identify client-side bottlenecks (such as bundle size, rendering performance, and network latency), help with prioritization, and devise/meet project schedules.
• You will raise the bar on sustainable frontend engineering by improving best practices, producing best-in-class code, documentation, automated UI testing, and real-user monitoring (RUM).
• You will build and maintain frontend systems in a way that ensures compliance with web accessibility standards (WCAG), certification, regulatory standards, and a technology-based information security program.
• You will showcase your skills in analyzing, profiling, and testing web applications across various devices and network conditions before formal launch to ensure flawless performance.
• You will mentor and coach other front-end engineers in the team to facilitate their technical growth and architectural mindset.

What you'll bring:

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 14+ years of strong design and development experience in building massively large-scale, high-performance web applications and products.
• Expertise in web performance engineering, Core Web Vitals optimization, rendering patterns (SSR, CSR, ISR, micro-frontends), and state management strategies.
• Extensive experience in architecting and developing real-time, responsive, accessible, and fault-tolerant React/Next.js applications that can handle complex state and high volumes of user interactions.
• Excellent computer systems fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and browser internals/networking knowledge (HTTP/2, caching, CDNs).
• Expert in component-driven architecture, design systems, and frontend design patterns.
• Deep coding expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, Webpack/Vite, and modern testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright, Cypress).
• Good exposure to cloud infrastructure, Edge computing, CDN configurations, and containerization tools like Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience in designing robust Client-Server architectures, integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and leveraging Backend-forFrontend (BFF) layers or API gateways.
• Track record of mentoring junior and senior developers and continuously improving software engineering practices.

Additional Qualifications:

• Large-scale distributed UI/micro-frontend architecture experience, including complex dashboard data visualizations for seller metrics.
• A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate, and optimize frontend build pipelines, tooling, and developer experience.
• Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
