Position Description:
Designs and develops high performance Cloud compliant components per business needs, adopting industry standard practices for code quality and information security. Collaborates with the development team to design and implement shareholder reporting requirements. Supports shareholder reporting products and business workflows. Automates existing processes for acceptance test driven development (ATDD). Performs server-side development using Java, Spring, Rest APIs, J2EE, Persistence frameworks (Hibernate), and relational database (Oracle). Leverages DevOps and Continuous Integrations/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices and tools (Jenkins and Concourse) to deliver high quality code with high test coverage. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application-level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
- Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
- Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
- Mentors junior team members.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing full stack enterprise software applications using Java, SpringBoot, Angular, Kafka, and Cloud services platforms in a financial services domain.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing full stack enterprise software applications using Java, SpringBoot, Angular, Kafka, and Cloud services platforms in a financial services domain.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing highly scalable applications, using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Rest APIs, Kafka, and Angular; and creating, building, and deploying applications using CI/CD practices, Docker, Jenkins, Git and Relational Databases (Oracle).
- DE implementing Content Management Solutions (CMS) to generate documents, create comprehensive workflows, dynamic communication forms, and approval processes, using Quadient Inspire toolset -- Designer, Interactive, Scaler, and ICM.
- DE developing complex regulatory documents for investment offering filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) -- Statutory Prospectus and Prospectus, Statement of Additional Information, Structured Data Fillings, and Financial Reports.
- DE developing, implementing, and maintaining scalable financial applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud, using AWS tools -- EKS, EC2, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch, and S3.
