Position Description:
Crafts new solutions and re-platforms applications within Cloud-based architectures (Amazon Web Services (AWS)). Utilizes automation pipelines leveraging DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools. Develops and deploys full stack Web applications using Angular, Node.js, RESTful Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), HTML, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS). Develops and deploys streaming application using Kafka, Python, and Java. Supports Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), streaming, WebSockets, and database drivers (Oracle Databases and Stored Procedures). Makes use of Machine Learning (ML) models and high computational matrix mathematics and data science via NumPy and Pandas. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application-level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the program.
- Recommends and utilizes development testing tools and methodologies and reviews, validates, and executes test plans.
- Responsible for testing automation of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
- Acts as a liaison for business partners to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Coordinates with peers on technical strategy.
- Mentors junior team members.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple phases of the project supporting several functional initiatives.
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing 12 factor compliant, Cloud ready, Java and Spring Boot applications in an enterprise applications environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing 12 factor compliant, Cloud ready, Java, and Spring Boot applications in an enterprise applications environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing responsive Web applications using React.js, Node.js, TypeScript, CSS, and Material UI, leveraging their respective frameworks and libraries.
- DE writing complex database queries with multiple tables, joins, and indexing for Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) operations, required for Web applications, using noSQL for MongoDB and SQL for PostgreSQL.
- DE developing SOAP and RESTful Web services using Java, Spring Core, Spring Web, Spring Boot, Mule-ESB with RabbitMQ (as a middleware), and PostgreSQL (as backend databases).
- DE performing end-to-end testing and automation according to Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies, using Junit, Jest, Cypress, and Cucumber; and implementing software application, load, and performance testing, using Jmeter.
