Position Description:

Builds and improves enterprise-scale platform architecture pursuant to data communication protocols using HTTP, SIP, TLS/SSL, TCP/IP, SNMP, LDAP, RDP, and SDP. Develops and provides software solutions for voice, email, and Web chat communication channels. Builds automation pipelines using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- uDeploy and Ansible. Improves application data management using Docker. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in architecture design teams.

  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.

  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

  • Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.

  • Mentors junior team members.

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or a closely related occupation) implementing Contact Center Technologies and Customer Relationship Management applications including Genesys Engage, Genesys Cloud CX, and Amazon Connect.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or a closely related occupation) implementing Contact Center Technologies and Customer Relationship Management applications including Genesys Engage, Genesys Cloud CX, and Amazon Connect.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing and supporting reusable and scalable chat and e-mail applications, using Genesys’ Contact Center Suite of Applications -- Genesys IRD, Genesys Administrator, Genesys framework 7.x and 8.x, ORS routing, GRAT tools and Genesys rules engine (GRE), SIP Clustering, Infomart, Building Workflows in Composer, reporting (GIM/ICON), Genesys Workforce management, using Skill Based and Service Level Routing, SIP messages, T-lib events and Blackchain.

  • DE participating in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) -- performing Continuous Integration (using Jenkins), Continuous Deployment (using IBM uDeploy), and code scanning (using Sonar and Veracode) to ensure code is secure and not vulnerable to exploitation through internal and external hacking; and performing Docker containerization for deployment on Linux Virtual.

  • DE facilitating pipeline jobs to ensure build quality within QA environments and automation framework maintenance with daily runs, using Maven, Jenkin, and Groovy; and deploying highly secured Web and mobile applications to Amazon Cloud regions -- Amazon S3, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EC2.

  • DE designing and developing high performant event driven financial applications, using JAVA/J2EE, and Web technologies (Angular, JavaScript, and Node JS).
