About the Role: 

This role is within the Mobile Team, responsible for building next-generation mobile apps for premium Dow Jones brands. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will guide a team of engineers to enhance the efficiency of mobile-specific technical models across multiple product teams. You will lead efforts in modernizing legacy systems and integrating advanced technologies, including cloud services. Your role will focus on maximizing delivery and application performance, enabling the team to achieve milestones efficiently. Additionally, you will ensure that new tech stacks contribute positively, either through improved performance or by advancing business objectives. 

You Will: 

● Enhance team efficiency by driving initiatives and introducing new technologies, including practices like Cross Knowledge Training.

● Translate business requirements into technical specifications and make informed decisions on technology adoption, infrastructure, and cost impacts. ● Document and communicate infrastructure and design decisions to both business and technical stakeholders, ensuring clear ownership and accountability for projects. 

You Have: 

● Six years of Android native Mobile development experience. 

● Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. ● Familiar with data structure, system design, design patterns, API designs, MVP or MVVM, declarative UI, Git, and DevOps. 

● Full stack background is a huge plus. Familiarity with cloud services, GraphQL, Firebase, etc is a plus. 

● A passion for news and creativity to introduce new ideas and technologies. If you have a background in journalism, even better!
