Principal Software Application Engineer
Job Description: In this role you will be a part of our world class team located in India and will be responsible for providing support to Ethernovia’s Field team and direct customers globally. As the main interface between field teams / customers and our engineering teams you will have high technical competence and the ability to communicate effectively with our multinational teams and customers. Demonstratable problem solving skills are a must for this hands-on role as you will be responsible for taking designs from concept, through the development phase and into series production. Day-to-day activities would include technical support, working with our internal engineering teams and global field teams.
Key Qualifications
- BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 8+ years of embedded software development
- Hands-on software driver design experience with at least one of the following: Ethernet PHYs / Ethernet switches / PCIe
- Good understanding of C/C++ Programming Language and Python.
- Experience with root-causing Firmware / Device Drivers issues, preferably for communication devices like Ethernet.
- Working knowledge of Operating Systems, preferably Linux Operating System, QNX or Real Time Operating System.
- Experience with integration and testing with Operating System Device Driver Interfaces, c-APIs.
- Hands on Experience with Hardware, preferably communication devices.
- Ability to diagnose and debug problems effectively
- Automotive experience at Tier 1, Tier 2 or OEM level
Additional Success Factors
Experience in any of the following areas:
- Understanding and experience of OSI network layers 2+
- Experience of Ethernet switches and understanding of IEEE802.1 protocols
- Experience with TSN protocols
- Experience with PCIe protocols and topologies
- AUTOSAR Communication Stack
