Role Responsibilities
- Lead the SecOps team and provide technical guidance to engineers and other security professionals.
- Develop and drive the security operations strategy, policies, and best practices.
- Ensure that security is integrated throughout the development lifecycle, from planning to deployment.
- Oversee the security of AWS infrastructure, services, and applications.
- Design and implement robust cloud security architectures, including monitoring, access control, and vulnerability management.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud environments, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Lead security incident response efforts, ensuring rapid identification, containment, and resolution of security incidents.
- Develop and refine incident response playbooks and post-incident reports.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams during security incidents to mitigate impact and prevent future breaches.
- Build and maintain automated security monitoring and alerting systems.
- Continuously evaluate and implement security tools to enhance threat detection, response, and prevention.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Assist in audit and compliance efforts, providing necessary documentation and support for external audits.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to build a strong security-first culture within the company.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, learning-driven environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and share knowledge with the broader team.
Role Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in security operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud security, including security architecture, threat detection, incident response, and governance.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks, compliance standards, and regulations (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, endpoint protection).
- Expertise in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform).
- Deep understanding of security best practices and incident response workflows.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, with a track record of successfully managing security incidents.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
