Purpose of the role
At Navitaire, the Principal Scrum Master is accountable for accelerating the flow of value delivery at the Agile team level by embracing and promoting the Lean-Agile values and principles. Facilitates the team and scaled agile ceremonies and is the guardian of the Scrum/Kanban artifacts; communicates with stakeholders, mentors less experienced colleagues, escalates impediments, helps manage risks, and strives to improve this all in a robust way, restlessly.
In this role you'll:
Expected to establish Scrum in the team (i.e. ensuring Scrum events take place, are positive and productive and kept within the timebox).
Handles multiple Scrum teams.
Possess advanced skills in planning, metrics, and reporting, and be able to apply those as they support their team's alignment to the three pillars of Scrum which are transparency, inspection and adaptation.
Works with Product Owner(s) to create and maintain a product, project, or program roadmap.
Collaborate with Product Owner(s) to monitor long-range plans and forecasts by utilizing Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, etc.).
Work collaboratively with team members, leads, managers and stakeholders in their assigned product/domain to improve team performance and optimize value delivery.
Have strong communication/presentation/negotiation skills to effectively interact with teams and leadership.
Drive relentless improvement via retrospective workshops; assess the scrum maturity level of the Scrum teams and help them improve.
Coach teams and individuals to optimize their flow of value and improve predictability and time to market.
About the ideal candidate:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience with software development methodologies and agile development
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Scrum master or Coach for multiple Agile teams
Experienced in working within a scaled-agile environment with distributed teams managing cross-functional teams
Certifications including or equivalent to SAFe RTE, SPC a plus, Scrum,org, PSM 11, PMI-ACP.
Proficient with tools such as Azure Dev Ops (ADO), Jira, Rally, VersionOne, etc.
Experience querying data and building reports using PowerBI
Knowledge of modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, DevOps, SRE and cloud computing.
Strong knowledge of project management principles
Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with a diverse range of audiences.
Airline industry knowledge is a plus
Knowledgeable in Scrum, SAFe and/or Agile frameworks
