We work closely with product and domain experts to identify compelling solutions at the intersection of customer problems and technical feasibility. Our team is designing the next generation of AI capabilities of Westlaw, Practical Law, and CoCounsel.

About the Role  

A Principal Scientist will lead a cross-functional team responsible for scaling AI application development and designing a robust, highly specialized applications of generative AI.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will:

  • Design and direct the technology strategy for a new class of AI solutions that serve customer-facing human-in-the-loop applications.  
  • Innovate new ways of building and evaluating verifiable agents for expert systems. 
  • Enable knowledge workflows and task specific model customization at scale  
  • Research and evaluate emerging technology to advance application development
  • Ensure solution development follows best practices and scientific principles  
  • Continuously improve ways of working with partners across product and engineering

About You:

You’re a fit for the role of Principal Scientist if you have the following required qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline or Master’s with comparable experience 
  • 7+ years hands-on building AI systems for commercial applications 
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience working with high performing teams. 
  • Expertise in cloud platforms for large-scale AI workloads and infrastructure. 
  • Knowledge of model development and model governance best practices. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and align AI architecture with business needs  
  • Highly motivated to design innovative solutions with large language models
