We are looking for a visionary Principal Sales Engineer to lead our technical sales initiatives and promote business growth in the affordable multi-family housing sector. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert in affordable housing, guiding our sales team and clients through complex technical solutions. You will foster strategic relationships and influence product development. Your deep knowledge of the affordable housing industry, strong leadership skills, and client-focused consulting approach will be crucial in enhancing our market presence and achieving revenue targets.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Leverage your extensive expertise in Affordable multi-family to advise and guide sales teams, clients, and internal stakeholders on technical matters, product positioning, and solution architecture.
- Strategic Collaborator: Collaborate closely with the sales leadership team to define and execute sales strategies, ensuring technical alignment and value proposition delivery.
- Client Engagement: Engage with key clients and prospects at the executive level to understand their business needs, offer tailored technical solutions, and establish yourself as a trusted advisor.
- Complex Solutions: Lead the design and presentation of innovative and intricate technical solutions that address clients' unique challenges and contribute to winning proposals.
- Thought Leadership: Drive thought leadership initiatives by participating in industry events, conferences, and seminars, contributing to whitepapers, and establishing yourself as an authority in the field.
- Product Feedback Loop: Act as a conduit between clients and our product management and engineering teams, providing invaluable insights to influence product enhancements and roadmap decisions.
- Sales Support: Deliver compelling product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical presentations that resonate with clients, fostering confidence in our solutions.
- Training and Enablement: Develop and deliver training programs for the sales team, empowering them with the technical knowledge needed to effectively communicate our value proposition.
- Performance Tracking: Set performance benchmarks for the sales engineering team, evaluate progress, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies, translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the sales engineering team, fostering their growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in affordable multi-family housing, with a thorough understanding of LIHTC, HUD, market trends, and challenges.
- 5 years of successful sales engineering experience, including involvement in complex Affordable solution sales and technical leadership.
- Ability to align technical expertise with sales strategies, contributing to successful revenue generation and market penetration.
- A proven track record of engaging with executives, building strong relationships, and influencing decisions.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- A natural inclination toward innovation and an ability to envision creative technical solutions to challenging problems.
- A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, fostering teamwork, open communication, and knowledge sharing.
- Willingness to travel extensively for client engagements and industry events.
