Summary of Role:

The Principal Product/Test Engineer is a senior individual contributor responsible for improving cost, yield, quality, and product robustness across Automotive and Industrial semiconductor portfolios. As part of the Cost Entitlement and Sustaining Product Engineering team, this role leads new product introduction and legacy-product sustaining activities, including fab, assembly, and test-yield excursions; factory transfers; cost-entitlement execution; and customer RMA root-cause analysis and corrective action. The engineer will apply deep expertise in digital, analog/mixed-signal, and RF test, multiple ATE platforms, and C/C++, Python, and/or Java development to productize device families and achieve organizational cost and quality benchmarks.

Essential Responsibilities:

Own the cost-entitlement roadmap and delivery of wafer-sort yield (WSY), final-test yield (FTY), test-cost, and cost-of-build (COB) metrics across all Post-Fab Services products within the ISC business unit. Generate daily / weekly automated data analysis reports (various – eGAP, cWATY, Scrap, etc). Own customer RMA activities and post-RMA root cause disposition including EFA / PFA (electrical and physical failure analysis). Interface with FAB, Assembly, and factory Test teams and engineers for driving yield improvement activities across various products.  Drive cost reduction activities such as burn-in reduction / elimination, test and manufacturing flow optimization, test time and yield enhancements. Lead cross-functional execution with Program Management, Quality and Customer Quality Engineering, Design, firmware development, fab, assembly, and factory test teams to resolve product issues and deliver cost, yield, quality, and schedule objectives. Document gaps, lessons learned, and best practices back to NPDE PE teams for better execution on future projects. Must be able to update / modify existing code with innovation and improvisation focused on efficiency and test-cost reduction. Good understanding on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) system architecture (V93K, Exascale, ETS800, T2K, IFlex, UltraFlex, etc.) and able to work with vendor to develop low level automation code.

Good IC and test knowledge and background, across digital, mix-signal/analog, and RF, along with knowledge of ATE platforms, DfT strategies and test methods, and test instrumentation requirements.  Strong data-analysis skills are a must.  Knowledge in various coding languages (across multiple different platforms) and programming skills, and ability to write scripts in C/C++ and PERL (or Python) is considered a plus. Must have prior hands-on experience working ATE Test Equipment for IC testing, and good understanding of ATE system architectures.

Requirements:

• BSEE with minimum >15 yrs of experience working Product / Test in Digital, Analog/Mix Signal, RF space.
• Experience working with multiple ATE platforms (V93K, UltraFlex, iFlex, ETS800, ETS364, etc).
• Demonstrated proficiency in relevant programming languages, such as C, C++, Python, and/or Java, with the ability to modify and develop production ATE software across multiple platforms.
• Strong statistics and data-analysis skills. 
• Strong communication and leadership skills, working with cross-functional teams across multiple different internal development and factory sites.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – energetic, motivated, and self-driven.
• Demonstrate ability to work well within a global team environment with minimal supervision.
