FOX News Media is looking for a Principal Product Manager to own the content experiences that shape how audiences discover, navigate, and engage with content across FNM digital properties. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad scope and significant cross-functional influence. This role is the product authority for the structural layer of the FNM audience experience: the architecture, surfaces, and standards that translate content strategy into what users actually find and explore.
You will own how audiences browse, navigate, and find content: the navigation systems, brand and vertical destinations, topic pages, and content structures that make FNM’s editorial output accessible and engaging at scale.
The right candidate brings fluency in information architecture alongside a genuine understanding of how content strategy shapes user behavior. You are comfortable navigating multi-brand complexity, setting standards that work across a portfolio of distinct properties, and partnering closely with other leaders across the product-technology team.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Architecture & Discovery
- Partner with editorial teams to define how brand and vertical hubs are structured, curated, and maintained, balancing editorial control with scalable content organization
- Define and evolve the information architecture for FNM digital: content organization, topic and vertical structures, brand hubs, and the navigational logic that connects audiences to content
- Build and maintain the user-facing discovery surfaces that help audiences explore FNM content: navigation menus, topic pages, brand and vertical destinations, related content surfaces, and search
- Partner with the Personalization PM to ensure the standards editorial defines produce the signals that power algorithmic recommendation across FNM surfaces
Editorial Content Partnership
- Partner with editorial stakeholders to understand content strategy priorities and translate them into user-facing product decisions that serve both audience needs and editorial goals
- Serve as the product voice on content quality and digital best practices, ensuring that how content is structured and presented meets audience expectations and platform standards
- Coordinate with the Tooling & Platform Operations PM to ensure the user-facing content architecture remains aligned with the publishing infrastructure that supports it
Multi-Brand Ownership
- Own the content experience product roadmap across FOX News, FOX Business, FOX Weather, OutKick, and FOX Radio digital properties, balancing brand-specific needs against shared platform investments
- Establish clear standards for how brand-specific content organization differs from shared infrastructure, and define the intake process for brand-specific content experience requests
- Coordinate with product, tech, delivery and design leads to ensure alignment across brand needs and strategies
Cross-Functional Execution
- Serve as the primary product point of contact for editorial, engineering, design, SEO, and data teams on all content experience workstreams
- Write clear, detailed PRDs and user stories that give engineering teams what they need to build confidently
- Own ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews
- Drive execution, unblocking dependencies and maintaining delivery momentum
Data & Measurement
- Define success metrics for content experience initiatives: navigation engagement, content depth per session, hub performance, organic discoverability, and audience return rate driven by content structure
- Partner with data, analytics, and SEO teams to instrument features and generate actionable insights
- Use experimentation to validate content architecture decisions and iterate with rigor
AI-Powered Ways of Working
- Actively uses AI agents as a core part of daily product workflows, not as an occasional tool but as a practiced default approach to getting work done
- Applies AI to research, synthesis, and analysis including competitive research, user behavior pattern recognition, and data summarization
- Leverages AI for PRD drafting, user story creation, and sprint preparation
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Required
- 10+ years of product experience at the intersection of content strategy and digital product; you understand how a newsroom thinks, how editorial decisions shape what audiences encounter, and how users discover and consume content across digital platforms, especially mobile apps
- Strong fluency in information architecture: you understand how content taxonomy, metadata standards, and tagging frameworks affect both user experience and search and SEO performance
- Experience working in or alongside editorial environments; you understand how newsrooms operate under deadline pressure and can translate that context into product decisions
- Proven ability to translate content strategy into user-facing product decisions that serve audience needs across a multi-brand portfolio
- Solid understanding of SEO principles as they relate to content architecture and page structure
- Comfort navigating multi-brand complexity; you can hold standards that work across a portfolio of distinct properties without defaulting to a one-size-fits-all solution
- Excellent written and verbal communication; you can write tight PRDs, present a roadmap to leadership, and facilitate alignment across opinionated editorial and engineering stakeholders
- Active, practiced use of AI agents across research, synthesis, PRD drafting, stakeholder communications, and sprint preparation
- Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 3 days per week is an essential function of this position
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
- Experience at a digital media, news, or publishing company with a multi-brand or multi-property portfolio
- Familiarity with how CMS platforms and editorial publishing workflows shape the user-facing content experience
- Experience with personalization or recommendation systems in the context of content metadata and signal quality
- Track record improving audience engagement metrics tied to content navigation and discovery
- Background managing content governance or information architecture standards across a complex editorial organization
