The Principal Product Manager role is a senior level product manager role, applicants should have prior product management experience, be familiar with standard SDLC frameworks, and have the ability to create short term and long term roadmaps and work collaboratively with development teams to execute the roadmap.
Job Description:
Platform Strategy & Architecture
- Define the vision and roadmap for product capability area (APIs, eventing, features,data exchange)
- Establish scalable patterns for onboarding and managing multiple carriers across lines of business
- Partner with engineering to design resilient, high-performance integration architecture
Data, Performance & Reliability
- Own KPIs for integration performance (latency, uptime, quote success rate, error rates)
- Drive improvements in data quality, completeness, and consistency across carriers
- Implement observability frameworks for monitoring and proactive issue resolution
Partner & Ecosystem Leadership
- Act as the product lead for carrier relationships in partnership with business development
- Define technical integration requirements and onboarding playbooks
- Influence carrier roadmaps to align with marketplace capabilities
Customer & Conversion Impact
- Optimize integration performance to improve quote speed and bind rates
- Reduce friction caused by data gaps, defaults, or inconsistent carrier responses
- Enable richer, more accurate quoting experiences for end users and agents
Execution & Delivery
- Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across engineering, data, and partner teams
- Define detailed product requirements, API specifications, and integration standards
- Mentor other product managers and drive best practices across the product organization
Qualifications
Required
- 8–12+ years of product management experience, with deep focus on platforms or integrations
- Strong experience with APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Proven track record delivering complex, partner-driven integrations at scale
- Experience defining technical product strategy and influencing architecture decisions
- Data-driven approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience in insurance, particularly with carrier systems and quote/bind workflows
- Familiarity with third-party data providers (e.g., property, risk, credit, or underwriting data)
- Experience in multi-sided marketplaces or partner ecosystems
- Background working with real-time transaction systems and high-availability platforms
