As a Senior Product Manager, Tax Compliance, you'll have a significant impact on both seller and internal team experiences by developing tools and workflows that ensure marketplace compliance. Partnering closely with Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Operations, you'll translate complex U.S. and international tax regulations into scalable platform features, enabling seamless document collection, accurate regulatory reporting, audit readiness, and enhanced seller trust. This role uniquely blends compliance expertise with user-centric product design, requiring strategic vision, attention to detail, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

If you thrive in simplifying complexity, enjoy working across diverse teams, and are passionate about building products that empower small businesses, we’d love to connect with you.

What you will accomplish:

As a Senior Product Manager responsible for Tax Compliance, you will:

  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Engineering to translate tax regulations into product requirements and platform behaviors

  • Define and prioritize seller-facing experiences like tax form collection and delivery (e.g., W-9, 1099-K, DAC7), with a focus on accuracy and usability

  • Support internal teams with tools that streamline audit readiness, data accuracy, and reporting workflows

  • Own product development cycles from discovery through delivery, managing backlogs and cross-functional execution

  • Identify and prioritize risks and opportunities related to evolving tax policy or international compliance requirements

  • Ensure timely communication and change management as tax regulations shift

  • Collaborate across teams to ensure compliance solutions are not only effective, but also support seller trust and operational efficiency

  • Ability to challenge current thinking and bring others along to implement new ideas to improve business results.

  • Ability to facilitate meetings with diverse and sometimes conflicting points of view and the ability to influence and guide them to decisions and finality.

What you will bring:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, including subject matter expertise in tax compliance, seller-facing regulatory reporting, or related compliance-driven product areas

  • Relevant experience in tax compliance, ideally with seller-facing or marketplace tax reporting (e.g., 1099-K, W-9, W-8BEN, DAC7, VAT, GST).

  • Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory or policy requirements into clearly-defined, scalable product features and workflows.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Legal, Finance, Compliance, Engineering, and Operations teams.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex regulatory information to diverse stakeholders.

  • Comfort working with APIs, data-intensive products, and internal tools that handle sensitive financial or compliance information.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and processes in product development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with third-party tax compliance systems or vendors (e.g., Avalara, Sovos, TaxJar).

  • Familiarity with global tax frameworks (DAC7, FATCA, CRS, VAT).

  • Exposure to financial compliance processes such as KYC/AML.

  • Passion or personal interest in collectibles, gaming, or hobby markets.

  • Certification as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Scrum Master.
