Job Description

About The Team

The Global KYC and Onboarding Squad is improving Wise's KYC and onboarding experience by reducing three things at the same time:

  • Financial crime risk, by making reviews, controls, and decisioning more effective.

  • Operational cost, by automating repeatable work and improving how agents handle complex cases.

  • Customer friction, by making verification clearer, faster, and easier to complete.

Business Onboarding Verification focuses on business customers. Businesses are not simple identity objects: they are legal entities connected to directors, shareholders, UBOs, authorised signatories, employees, documents, registry data, vendor data, ownership structures, risk signals, and market-specific requirements.

That makes KYB one of Wise's most complex verification domains. It is also one of the biggest opportunities to improve customer experience, reduce manual work, improve control quality, and build better risk decisioning.

About The Role

We are hiring a Product Manager to own one of the workstreams within Business Onboarding Verification. Each PM within the team owns a complex product area end to end, from discovery and roadmap through delivery, measurement, and iteration.

These are not generic AI, programme management, or stakeholder coordination roles. You will coordinate complex work, but the core of the job is product ownership: defining the problem, shaping the solution, making trade-offs explicit, setting success metrics, launching safely, and ensuring each change improves KYB as a product.

What You Will Own

  • Own the product roadmap for one BOV workstream, from discovery through launch and iteration.

  • Identify the highest-value problems using customer friction, operational cost, manual review load, risk impact, regulatory need, and delivery readiness.

  • Translate ambiguous KYB problems into clear product requirements, launch criteria, success metrics, and learning loops.

  • Partner with Engineering, Analytics/Data Science, Product Compliance, Risk, Operations, regional teams, vendors, support partners, and adjacent PMs.

  • Define launch metrics and guardrails across customer impact, manual review load, operational adoption, control quality, false positives, false negatives, auditability, monitoring, and rollback.

  • Build feedback loops from agents, QA, assurance, customer outcomes, support contacts, downstream risk signals, and vendor/model performance where relevant.

  • Balance tactical delivery with long-term product foundations.

What Success Looks Like In The First 6-12 Months

  • Your workstream has a clear roadmap with explicit priorities and measurable outcomes.

  • The team has shipped meaningful product improvements, not just analysis or coordination.

  • Product changes are safer to launch because metrics, guardrails, monitoring, fallback paths, and ownership are clear.

  • Cross-functional partners understand what is being solved, why it matters, who owns what, and how success will be measured.

  • KYB becomes faster, more measurable, more auditable, and easier for legitimate businesses and agents to navigate.

This Role Gives You The Opportunity To

  • Work on one of the most important regulated onboarding domains at Wise.

  • Improve the experience for business customers and the agents reviewing their cases.

  • Build practical AI, automation, decisioning, controls, and platform foundations in a real operational environment.

  • Work across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Analytics, regional teams, and vendors on high-stakes problems.

  • Shape how Wise moves from fragmented manual review and tactical control work toward reusable, measurable KYB capabilities.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

  • You have product management experience owning complex work from discovery through delivery and measurable outcomes.

  • You are comfortable in data-heavy, risk-sensitive, operational, regulated, onboarding, payments, trust and safety, compliance, or fintech domains.

  • You can reason with data and metrics, including denominators, baselines, segmentation, sample bias, data quality, attribution limits, and guardrails.

  • You can translate ambiguous product, risk, compliance, or operational problems into clear requirements, launch criteria, and iteration plans.

  • You understand that regulated product delivery needs evidence, auditability, operational readiness, monitoring, and ownership.

  • You communicate clearly, make trade-offs explicit, and can create alignment without formal authority.

Strong Additional Signals

  • Experience in KYB, KYC, business onboarding, financial crime, identity, fraud, risk decisioning, compliance tooling, operational tooling, payments, or regulated fintech.

  • Experience with AI, LLMs, ML models, document intelligence, decisioning systems, vendor evaluation, or agent-assist tooling.

  • Experience turning remediation, audit, or control gaps into product or platform improvements.

  • Experience reducing manual operations through automation, workflow redesign, better data, internal tools, QA/assurance processes, monitoring, or dashboards.

  • Experience with legal entities, ownership structures, UBOs, directors, shareholders, authorised signatories, business registries, or complex evidence workflows.

Additional Information

  • Base salary: £120-148K (based on experience & interview outcomes)

  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) & a variety of other benefits: Wise Benefits
