They will be responsible for defining and driving the strategy, roadmap, and measurable success of our core Computer Vision Platform. This role is pivotal in partnering with internal product leaders to define the platform's requirements and drive the adoption of central AI models and foundational AI infrastructure across Motorola's product portfolio. This includes product management for our enterprise-scale cloud and edge AI platforms, ensuring our AI investments translate into quantifiable, improved customer and business outcomes. This role also includes product ownership for select end-to-end computer vision-based products.

Key Responsibilities

The Principal Product Manager will own the strategy, definition, and roadmap across the following core areas, with an emphasis on the Computer Vision Platform:

  • Product Definition & Requirements: Author high-quality Market Requirements Documents (MRDs), Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), and user stories for core platform capabilities (e.g., model serving, data pipelines, edge-to-cloud synchronization) and for select end-to-end computer vision products.

  • AI Model Lifecycle Ownership: Own the product lifecycle for central, reusable computer vision models and foundational AI infrastructure, from ideation and research collaboration through deployment, adoption, and deprecation.

  • Platform Success Metrics: Define, implement, and track key business, customer, and technical metrics (e.g., platform adoption, performance, latency, cost-efficiency, and quantifiable customer outcomes) to measure the success and health of the platform and drive continuous improvement.

  • Market & Customer Insights: Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer/partner discovery to identify new opportunities, validate product concepts, and inform strategic build-versus-buy decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with a focus on platform products, AI/ML, or complex, cross-functional technical domains.

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of computer vision and machine learning, machine learning lifecycle (MLOps), data platforms, and the challenges of building and deploying central, reusable AI infrastructure and models. Demonstrated ability to engage in technical discussions with engineering teams, understand architectural trade-offs, and define clear, measurable product requirements.

  • Product Strategy & Metrics: Proven experience defining product vision, strategy, and roadmaps. Expertise in defining and implementing metrics frameworks (KPIs, OKRs) to measure product success (adoption, revenue, customer value) and drive organizational change and accountability.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience working with AI performance metrics (e.g., Precision/Recall), real-time video processing, and inference optimization.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to operate at a Principal level, influence senior leaders across organizations, drive consensus, and communicate complex technical and strategic concepts clearly and concisely, including presenting roadmap elements and business cases.

  • Customer-focused with a track record of building strong relationships and conducting early-stage discovery to understand internal and external customer needs.

  • Domain Knowledge: Experience in public safety, security-focused software (e.g., video security, evidence management), mission-critical systems, or emergency communications is a plus.

Pathfinding: Experience bringing initial definition to "highly ambiguous" product concepts and conducting early-stage discovery for emergent initiatives.
