More about our mission and what we offer.
Job DescriptionWise is building the best way to move and manage money across borders. To make that possible, customers need to be able to join Wise quickly, safely, and confidently.
We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our Onboarding & KYC team in Hyderabad. You’ll own high-impact product work across APAC, helping Wise build onboarding and verification experiences that are low-friction for customers and prevent financial crime.
This is a senior role for someone who can operate in ambiguity, get deep into customer, regulatory, data, and technical details, and turn complex problems into shipped product outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
Own product strategy and roadmap for APAC onboarding, KYC and financial crime mitigation initiatives, from discovery through delivery, launch, measurement, and iteration.
Build and scale digital identity verification and eKYC experiences across markets such as Japan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
Partner with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Operations, Risk & Compliance to balance conversion, customer experience, operational cost, regulatory requirements and financial crime risk.
Lead complex localisation work, including integrating local identity providers, registry checks, and APAC-specific controls into Wise’s global platform.
Improve customer onboarding outcomes such as first product adoption, verification completion, time-to-verify, manual review rates, cost-to-serve, and quality of fincrime decisions.
Mitigating risk of financial crime by ensuring our in-product control environment accounts for country-specific financial crime risks.
Use data, customer insight, operational feedback, and regulatory context to prioritise what matters most.
Help generalise APAC’s strongest onboarding and KYC capabilities so they can be reused by other Wise product teams.
Staying close to the details: customer journeys, dashboards, service architecture, regulatory interpretations, edge cases, incidents, and operational workflows.
What we’re looking for
Significant product management experience, ideally in finance/fintech, identity, onboarding, KYC, risk, compliance, fraud, trust & safety, or another regulated domain.
8+ years in the workforce with ideally 5+ years in product management or product-management adjacent roles.
For those with material experience outside of product management we still require a minimum of 3+ years in a senior product manager role
A strong track record shipping customer-facing products end-to-end, not just writing strategy.
Excellent structured problem solving: you can break down ambiguous, multi-stakeholder problems and create a practical path to impact.
Strong analytical skills: you can define good metrics, interrogate data, work with SQL (or similar), and make trade-offs based on evidence.
Enough technical depth to work with engineers on systems, integrations, reliability, observability, and platform design.
Strong customer focus, including a habit of using customer research, support insights, funnel data, and operational feedback to shape product decisions.
Clear, concise communication and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without relying on authority.
High ownership, strong attention to detail, and willingness to roll up your sleeves,
Nice to have
Experience with KYC/KYB: digital identity, national ID systems, government registry integrations, biometric or document verification, business onboarding,
Experience in financial crime prevention: risk models (e.g. machine learning models), fraud/scam product prevention
Experience launching products across multiple countries or adapting global platforms to local market requirements.
- Experience working with distributed teams across product, engineering, compliance, operations, and regional leadership.
Location
This role is based in Hyderabad, working closely with teams across Singapore, other APAC markets and Wise’s global product and engineering hubs.
