Palo Alto Networks has built a world-class product management organization and continues to look for top-notch competitive intelligence talent to collaborate with internal teams to tackle challenging security problems. The 5G Security product group seeks a Principal Product Manager to own and execute the strategy of security products for private and public 5G networks.
This individual will be responsible for understanding 5G/LTE technologies and the underlying protocol, vendor landscape, market trends, and gathering customer requirements at both a market and technical level that would drive the product roadmap. This role will require collaboration with other product and cross-functional teams that include engineering, product marketing, sales teams to deliver 5G security solutions to solve customer problems with speed and agility. This individual will also engage with strategic customers to understand their security challenges and the competitive landscape in order to build and execute a product strategy that displaces the competition.
Your Impact

Conceptualize and define differentiated features for 5G Security products through a deep understanding of the evolving Threat Landscape, advancements in protocols and Customer pain-points across our core and growth markets

Collaborate with product leaders to build out business case, author PRDs and collaborate with cross-functional product, engineering and design teams to plan and release features

Understand how all our security products work and identify what is needed for them to be successful in a private and public 5G network

Assist the field and customers understand our value, competitive differentiation, and best practices for implementing our product

Communicate product value to both customers and the business in a compelling manner using slides and documents

Engage customers and develop relationship via executive briefings, product evangelism, and requirements gathering

Be responsible for whitepapers, demos, videos and technical training for sales, customers, and partners

Be a great team player– an excellent communicator, strong collaborator, someone who solicits feedback from others, is welcoming of better ideas

Willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events
Qualifications
Your Experience
-
BS/MS in Computer Science, other engineering/technical degree
-
5+ years of experience in highly technical roles in development or product management in the mobile connectivity industry
-
5+ years of experience designing HW products for large scale production
-
Direct Experience with LTE, 5G based products including Routers, Modems, Hotspots from companies such as Cradlepoint, Sierra wireless, Digi and others
-
Direct Experience with private 4G/ 5G networks
-
Strong Experience with wireless technologies including 5G, LTE and Wifi
-
Strong Experience in with networking protocols including IPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, IPSec, NAT, DHCP, DNS
-
Strong knowledge in 3GPP specifications
-
Knowledge of industry standards including ETSI, CBRS and O-RAN
-
Knowledge of cellular spectrum strategy in key countries

Experience with Enterprise & Government/ DoD requirements and services

Experience in Enterprise and or Government device certifications with network specific configurations including APN/ DNN, RAT, eSIM

Experience working with vendors and partners

Knowledge of network management platforms, APIs and 3rd party integrations

Knowledge of SW development cycles and SQA processes

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $166,000 - 268,500/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
