One of our key product areas is Document Domain, where our primary goal is to elevate our flagship Editor into a leading solution in the market.
We are looking for an exceptionally skilled Principal Product Designer to take on a pivotal role within our Design team and across our R&D organization. In this role, you will have a significant impact on how our users generate, collaborate on, and manage documents.
Your responsibilities will include defining our design direction, fostering innovation, and working closely with diverse teams to ensure an outstanding user experience. This role is crucial as we push the boundaries of our industry and elevate our teams to new heights.
The design team currently consists of a bunch of 23 designers, 5 researchers and one copywriter. We're spread across the globe, from Portugal, Spain, Poland, Ukraine and the U.S. Here are (almost) all of us:

The primary focus within the document domain is developing a Personalization Framework. It’s crucial as our user base continues to diversify. This framework will allow us to customize the platform based on user roles and industry needs, significantly boosting engagement and satisfaction. It aligns with our mission to innovate and add value by creating a flexible user interface that meets specific requirements across Sales, HR, and Legal sectors. This direction ensures our platform remains competitive and responsive to user preferences, enhancing customer retention and loyalty.

Role responsibilities
- Establish the design direction, standards, and best practices for the PandaDoc Editor. Take a lead role in shaping the long-term vision and strategy for the personalization framework, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Hands-on design execution, steering the design direction.
- Fostering the professional growth of our design team, encouraging a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Proactively communicate changes, project progress, updates, project notes, strategic thoughts, etc. to managers, key stakeholders, and peers. Ensuring visual and functional consistency across all products by advocating for design system best practices and standards.
- Promoting design principles and user-centered design philosophy across the organization.
- Champion usability and accessibility principles to create intuitive and accessible user experiences. Refine user journeys and interactions to simplify complex workflows and enhance user satisfaction.
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights and refine design hypotheses. Iterate designs based on user feedback and research findings to continuously improve the product experience and validate design solutions.
Your core competencies
- 8+ years of relevant experience in interaction design, visual design, information architecture, and design systems, with a strong passion for mentoring others in these domains, preferably in a senior or leadership role. Proven track record in designing sophisticated software products that prioritize intuitive user experiences.
- Deep understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and accessibility standards. Strong understanding of user psychology and human-centered design principles. Bonus points if you have experience in document lifecycle management, editing, or collaboration software.
- Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Framer, Adobe Creative Suite) and a strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Demonstrated ability to deeply understand user needs through integrating user research into the design process. Proficient in gathering and utilizing both qualitative and quantitative user research to drive informed design decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (C1 in English), with the ability to articulate complex design concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design issues.
- A history of mentoring designers and enhancing their performance.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
