Join HubSpot’s Operations Hub UX Team

We’re seeking a highly skilled and driven Staff Product Designer to join our Operations Hub team to lead the evolution of the product experience across the HubSpot platform—including our flagship Workflows product. This is a highly used and monetized area of our product where users desire both feature richness and ease of use.  You will be instrumental in defining how newer AI paradigms can help shape the user experience that best meets customer needs, helping to drive product vision, and collaborating closely with product and engineering leadership to build innovative solutions for this critical part of our product platform.

As a Staff Designer, you will be a key driver in navigating ambiguity, rapidly iterating, and validating design hypotheses. Your expertise in high-fidelity prototyping will be essential in communicating concepts, testing assumptions, and ensuring a seamless user experience. This role needs a proactive, strategic thinker who builds engineering context quickly, learns from users and competitors and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We’re looking for someone passionate about understanding the needs of our users and solving for them through innovative design work and collaborative problem solving.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Design for Concept Car experience vision: Drive the end-to-end design process for a new product experience, from initial concept to partnering with product and engineering on the optimal execution path.
  • Collaborate across functional areas and levels to get results: This is a deeply established and used product area that, while in need of fresh thinking and a new approach, requires high consideration for change management to ensure a successful rollout.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Create interactive prototypes using tools like Figma to effectively communicate design concepts and test user interactions
  • User Research & Validation: Conduct user research, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable design decisions
  • Strategic Vision: Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals
  • Design System Contribution: Contribute to and evolve HubSpot’s design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across new products
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence

  • Proven Product Design Craft Expertise: To stand out in the application process, share a portfolio that showcases depth of craft, systems thinking, and measurable impact on users and the business, especially in complex, scalable, or platform environments.
    • Please include at least three recent case studies highlighting these strengths.

  • HUB-4 (Mid-Level): Contributes to impactful small-to-medium features within product areas while developing expertise under senior guidance. Explores creative solutions while mastering fundamental interaction design principles and our comprehensive design system.
  • HUB-5 (Senior I): Drives medium-to-large features independently within product areas, delivering polished solutions that delight users. Creates thoroughly researched, industry-standard experiences while advancing fluency in sophisticated design systems and dynamic interactions.
  • HUB-6 (Senior II): Owns complex, high-impact projects independently while collaborating seamlessly across product areas. Delivers holistic, well-crafted solutions with comprehensive user coverage and strategic influence beyond immediate scope.
  • HUB-7 (Staff): Leads transformative, large-scale projects across multiple product lines with exceptional autonomy and strategic impact. Innovates beyond industry standards while mentoring teams and driving collaborative excellence across design system evolution.
  • HUB-8 (Principal): Spearheads the most complex, high-visibility projects spanning organizational boundaries with masterful navigation of ambiguity. Architects scalable design systems and information frameworks that enable coherent experiences across our entire product ecosystem.

Pay & Benefits

The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

Annual Cash Compensation Range:
$210,000$336,000 USD
