The Team

You will join a passionate team collaborating closely with the Head of Product for Adjacency and the Commercial team to identify and execute new initiatives. Working closely with broader Design and Engineering teams, you'll develop customer-focused solutions. Your role includes supporting quality design outputs such as UX designs, research, and user testing, ensuring seamless collaboration for efficient delivery.

The Role

As the Principal Product Designer - Adjacency Development, you will lead the conceptualisation and execution of design strategies for new adjacent business opportunities in partnership with product and commercial teams.

This role requires a strategic and entrepreneurial mindset to explore large adjacent businesses alongside SEEK’s core offerings.

Key Responsibilities

As a Principal designer you will manage multiple projects, ensuring alignment with the SEEK goals and ambitions. You'll blend hands-on design, strategic thinking, and leadership to drive impactful outcomes across the business.

• Business strategy & commercial thinking: Shape product design strategies for Adjacencies by aligning user needs with business goals. Use commercial insights to prioritise high-impact design efforts that drive growth and deliver customer value.
• Design Leadership: Inspire and mentor designers across all levels. Contribute to long-term product vision, identify opportunities through research, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence. Collaborate on team structure to support strategic outcomes.
• Design Execution: Lead complex, cross-functional projects with a customer-first mindset. Champion design systems, ensure brand consistency, and elevate design quality across platforms and regions.
• Research: Drive user research to inform strategy and reduce risk. Close knowledge gaps and ensure customer understanding is embedded in design decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure Adjacency experiences enhance SEEK’s core offerings and create cohesive, valuable outcomes.

Skills and experience

• Experience in B2B and/or B2C
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering successful design projects
• Extensive portfolio demonstrating strong design skills in visual/UI/UX.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software, and AI prototyping tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Visionary with a strong sense of aesthetics and detail.
