Why We Need You:

PEMCO has a dynamic and challenging opportunity for a Principal Product Analyst to join our community. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting complex quantitative analysis of property & casualty products to improve product performance and support PEMCO's and Product's initiatives. As a principal level role, this position helps to shape Product strategy through data analysis and guide product development with relevant analytical insights.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Proactively lead complex analysis to evaluate the performance of our products; identify product trends and anomalies; make actionable recommendations to product managers and leadership; maintain a constant pulse on health of the business and Product department by tracking key performance indicators against targets and investigating key trends and their underlying drivers.
• Plan and manage large-scale, complex projects independently.
• Lead the development and implementation of analytical strategies with our Product Manager(s) and Actuarial team.
• Create advanced queries, dashboards, and tools for analyzing and tracking product success; identify enhancements and efficiency gains in data strategy and warehousing; consult on data fields, calculations, and methodology.
• Represent the Product department in development of company data strategy; serve as catalyst of change for Product data warehousing and processes.
• Develop and document complex system workflows and business processes.
• Manage filing workflow for Product initiatives and work to improve internal and external filing processes.
• Pioneer best practices in PEMCO product builds, tools, and processes to improve analysis and efficiencies.
• Own end-to-end product and rating reviews, including making pricing and underwriting recommendations.
• Present analysis and data visualizations to stakeholders and executives clearly and persuasively.
• Mentor less experienced analysts, helping them improve and sharpen their skills by sharing best practices.
• Serve as a thought leader for new, complex, and ambiguous business questions; represent Product in cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.

What You'll Bring:

• B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Business, Economics, mathematics, or other quantitative fields of study) is required
• Graduate or other professional degree or equivalent work experience is preferred
• 10+ years of experience in corporate analytical roles with increasing scale, scope and complexity involving pricing insurance products (or similar work) including experience in integrating, managing and manipulating large data files from various corporate systems and external sources is required
• 5 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is required
• Organized: Has excellent time management skills and easily manages multiple tasks, activities, and projects is required
• Business Environment: Has a thorough understanding of our industry, the relevant business landscape, and trends in growth and insurance environments; can spot early indicators of change and apply strategies to adapt quickly is required
• Compliance: Possesses knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations is required
• MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook is required
• Job specific: Skilled proficiency in SQL, SQL Server, and data visualization is required
• Problem Solver: Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve complex unstructured problems quickly, efficiently, and collaboratively is required
• Communicator: Communicates clearly and informatively, verbally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and the community in both technical and non-technical professional language is required
• Presenter: Organizes data visually and speaks clearly and persuasively in group presentations and meetings with multiple peer groups and senior management is required
• Job specific: Ability to demonstrate high level of skill in quantitative modeling, knowledge of data structures and ability to write complex SQL queries is required

Can work with external vendors to integrate data for analysis; knows how to build efficient and scalable infrastructure and data models is required
• Analytical and data-driven: Thinks analytically; a structured thinker who can put complex ideas into clear frameworks; uses data to conduct root cause analysis and develops high quality, consumable, and consistent metrics that drive strategic objectives and priorities is required
• Organizational Savvy: Interfaces cross-functionally with both technical depth and business savvy. Understands company goals and objectives; thinks critically about business challenges and resolutions. Demonstrates keen listening and observation skills
• Job specific: Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau is preferred

Compensation:

The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual's qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

• Greater Seattle area target pay range: $110,734-$135,342. The full pay range is $92,278-$153-797.
• Outside greater Seattle area target pay range: $97,725-$119,441. The full pay range is $81,437-$135,729.

Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle.

Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.

Benefits:

Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares. In addition, as a benefits-eligible employee, you are:

PEMCO provides the following paid leave programs for benefits-eligible employees in their first year of PEMCO employment:

• Vacation accrues at a rate of 10 days for new hires, and increases based on a schedule to a maximum annual accrual of 25 days based on tenure
• Granted four (4) personal days immediately upon hire
• Paid holidays for the eight (8) holidays observed by PEMCO throughout the calendar year.
• Granted up to ten (10) days of sick leave immediately upon hire (pro-rated based on hire date and full-time/part-time status), which is approximately 28 hours more per year than the Washington state-required accrual
• In addition, PEMCO provides paid time off for bereavement, jury duty and employee volunteering in the community.
