- Define and maintain Maximum Credible Event frameworks and site-specific high-consequence scenario libraries.
- Conduct or assure consequence modelling across risks such as thermal radiation, overpressure, blast, toxic dispersion, projectile or fragment hazards.
- Act as technical authority for high-risk process hazard studies, safeguard strategies, critical controls and significant process or design changes.
- Govern high-hazard Management of Change activity, ensuring changes are technically justified, risk-assessed and aligned with process safety standards.
- Build process safety capability across regions through coaching, competency frameworks and a network of trained facilitators and practitioners.
- Lead process safety assurance, including audits, field verification, critical control effectiveness and closure of systemic improvement actions.
- Support emergency planning, incident investigations, regulatory interactions, inspections and major hazard compliance activity.
You will bring:
- Extensive process safety experience in high-hazard industrial environments.
- Strong capability in process hazard analysis methods such as HAZOP, What-If and FMEA, with LOPA and Bowtie experience highly regarded.
- Experience with consequence modelling, risk quantification and major hazard regulatory environments.
- The ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs and process or utility systems, then translate technical information into credible hazard scenarios and controls.
- Experience acting as a technical authority in high-risk decision-making environments.
- Strong stakeholder influence, with the ability to guide site leaders, technical teams and senior executives through complex risk-based decisions.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Chartered or registered engineer status would be highly regarded.
- Experience with Safety Case, MHF or equivalent major hazard documentation would be highly desirable.
