Leidos currently has an opening for a Principal Network Engineer to work out of our Orlando, FL office, supporting the Advanced Battle Management System’s (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure Network Manager program (DINM). In this mission we support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) to design, field and operate the ABMS Digital Infrastructure Network.
ABMS is a top modernization priority for the DAF and will be the backbone of a network-centric approach to battle management in partnership with all the services across the Department of Defense. That broader effort is known as Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2). As envisioned, JADC2 will allow U.S. forces from all services — as well as allies and partners — to sense, make sense and act upon a vast array of data and information faster than adversaries can detect and respond to.
Primary Responsibilities.
Serve as the Program’s Lead Network Engineering Team representative, providing vision and direction, training, and task assignments for all team members.
Provide Network Engineering support for the design, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and operation of an evolving network architecture.
Lead Network Tier 3 issues management efforts, developing and/or providing approval for engineering changes leading to issues resolution.
Provide cross-discipline training for and mentoring of all team personnel.
Manage SD-WAN architecture to include operational and security related updates and changes.
Lead the deployment planning and coordination of network system upgrades at various field sites, both CONUS and OCONUS as required.
Interface with Tier 2 C2NSOC DI-Network Manager Team Lead to assist with coordination and issue escalation as appropriate.
Provide briefings and regular status updates to Program leadership on applicable DI-Network efforts.
Basic Qualifications.
BA/BS degree and 12 - 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience.
Must possess a minimum of a Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
Leadership experience with managing technical staff on IPTs and/or cross functional teams to enable significant positive impact on project results/outputs.
Demonstrated ability to influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results; and to recommend and develop new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of program strategy and operations.
Knowledge of network engineering, network architecture, and network automation methodologies and tools (Ansible, scripting, and coding)
Experience with configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing, and troubleshooting network systems
Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications.
Prior experience working on ABMS or JADC2 initiatives, or other US Air Force Customer programs
SD-WAN knowledge, experience, and/or relevant certifications (Juniper or Cisco)
Experience in general Linux systems administration
Experience with Agile methodology cadence
Experience working/testing within Commercial Cloud Platforms (ex: AWS) and DevOps tools
Experience with Cyber methodologies
Current and Active TS/SCI clearance
