As a Principal Network Engineer supporting the IHS EHR program, you will be trusted to engage in a variety of technical topics to ensure the success of our customer.This is a remote position, US based. This role requires you to obtain and maintain an in-depth Public Trust Level 5. This investigation will review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.
HOW A PRINCIPAL NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:- As part of the Cloud Infrastructure team in the broader program Engineering organization, the Principal Network Engineer is tasked with implementing network requirements to meet customer and program objectives
- Supports Deployment activities primarily by creating device mappings in compliance with customer VLAN micro segmentation requirements for facility deployments.
- Supports Sustainment/Support activities by troubleshooting a wide range of technical issues including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) connections to the IHS network; VLAN configurations; system-to-system interface connections, and other protocols, and service management (PPSM) topics
- Collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure alignment with NIST CSF, NIST 800‑53, PPSM, and IHS agency policies; collect artifacts for ATO approvals
- Works closely with the IHS and Team GDIT Network and Cybersecurity teams in developing strategies for routing network traffic to meet cybersecurity policies and objectives
- Works closely with the IHS and Team GDIT Configuration Management and Change Management teams
- Participate in cross-functional teams tasked with implementing new or emerging vendor (chiefly Oracle Health) capabilities, or greenfield initiatives
- Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and works with management to evolve current processes.
- Experience with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environment (OCI preferred)
- Prior experience with networking and cybersecurity for large Federal program
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of experience supporting medium-to-large IT projects
- Training/education/experience in task coordination; functional knowledge of IT project management concepts and tools.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.
- Experience with OCI preferred; Federal instances of OCI a bonus
- Experience with the Oracle Health (Cerner Millennium) system preferred
- Task management experience and/or skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage frequently changing priorities of competing importance
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with internal/external teams including key stakeholders, various customer teams, and/or executive leadership
- Ability to work and support the work of others across multiple U.S. time zones
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines, following detailed written policies, processes, procedures, and work instructions
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation
- Must be able to obtain a SSBI (T5) public trust clearance, which requires residency in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years. This role requires you to obtain and maintain an in-depth Public Trust Level 5. This investigation will review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.
