As a Principal MS&A Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing the digital architecture that underpins the next-generation LGM-35A Sentinel ICBM. Your work directly supports the U.S. Air Force by ensuring the missile system is safe, accurate, and mission-ready.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will lead the creation and refinement of a high-fidelity six-degrees-of-freedom (6-DOF) simulation model used to predict missile flight performance and validate vehicle design. Your responsibilities include:
- Simulation Development: Design, code, and test advanced rocket and missile dynamics models to evaluate flight behavior and system performance.
- Technical Validation: Apply advanced engineering principles to ensure MS&A tools are physically accurate, complete, and reliable.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with propulsion, guidance, and systems engineering teams to assess solid rocket motors, guidance components, and propulsion systems.
- Strategic Reporting: Convert complex simulation outputs into clear technical briefings and reports for the USAF System Program Office.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Software Engineering or Computer Science 12+ years of industry experience (10 years with a graduate degree).
- Understanding of agile software development practices and procedures.
- Developer level proficiency with configuration management tools such as Git.
- Developer level proficiency with coding languages such as C++ and Python.
- Current US DoD/DoW Secret Security Clearance.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US DoW Top Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- 12 years of progressive experience in systems design, integration and analysis of military hardware and software systems/processes.
- U.S. Citizenship with an active US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years.
- Experience with Department of Defense projects, DoD Acquisition Lifecycle, and/or ICBM weapon system.
- Experience with 6 degree-of freedom simulations.
- Model development of rocket or missile systems Experience with optimization algorithms and analyzing large data sets.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120874 - $205486

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
