Principal Machine Learning Engineer - AI & ML Solutions (m/f/d)

Client Advisory & Strategy: 

• Act as a trusted partner to our clients, advising them on data-driven, AI/ML-enabled solutions that drive their success. 
• Participate in pre-sales activities, including requirements definition, solution design, and the creation of implementation roadmaps. 
• Translate business objectives into technical requirements and effectively communicate analytical solutions to both technical and non-technical, management-level audiences.

Technical Leadership & Solution Delivery: 

• Design, develop, and fine-tune a wide range of algorithms, from classical machine learning (e.g., predictive modeling, time-series forecasting) to advanced Generative AI applications (e.g., LLM-based agents, information extraction, code generation). 
• ​​​​​​​Lead the integration of AI/ML models into end-user applications, collaborating with global development, product, and QA teams to deliver measurable business value and a compelling user experience. 
• Architect and implement end-to-end MLOps pipelines for robust and scalable model deployment on cloud platforms. 
• Champion software engineering and MLOps best practices, including CI/CD, containerization, Infrastructure as Code, prompt engineering, model monitoring, and automated workflows. 
• Implement strategies for continuous model monitoring to address drift and bias, ensuring long-term accuracy and reliability  

​​​​​​​Practice & Team Development: 

• Actively contribute to the growth of our AI & Data Science Practice in Central Europe by participating in hiring and mentoring activities. 
• Provide technical leadership and organize the work for project teams, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence. 

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field; or equivalent professional experience. 
• 8+ years of professional experience in data science and/or AI/ML engineering, with a proven track record of delivering projects with measurable business impact. 
• Significant hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable, end-to-end machine learning solutions, from data processing to production deployment.
• Deep expertise in designing and implementing Data Science solutions.
• ​​​​​​​Experience with modern Cloud Data Intelligence Platforms, such as Databricks or Snowflake. 
• Familiarity with extracting data from SAP systems for analytical use cases (e.g., using SAP Datasphere or ODP). 
• Experience working in a client-facing or consulting role. 
• A curious, innovative mindset with a willingness to travel for client engagements. 
• Business fluency in both German and English is essential for client communication.
