We’re searching for a talented Senior Manager to lead our embedded software group.  The Embedded Software Manager will play a key role in leading a team of embedded engineers to develop robust, reliable solutions with high throughput that includes sensing, localization, motion, and actuation of the robotic platform. 

This is both a people management and technical leadership position.  The right candidate will have experience architecting and implementing object-oriented, multi-threaded applications for real-time embedded systems and a solid background leading software teams.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON: 

  • Inspire, mentor, and motivate a team to deliver high quality software on time that meets customer needs.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Prioritize project and day-to-day activities for your team.
  • Provide technical and strategic guidance to your team.
  • Collaborate with the electro-mechanical teams to build solutions.
  • Work with Program Management to staff projects and determine resource capacity.
  • Effectively communicate plans, status, and needs to leadership and engineers.
  • Work closely with peers to share technical solutions and best practices.
  • Support an environment of continuous improvement and advocate for programming best practices.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5+ years of technical experience with modern C++ (11/14/17/20) with focus in object-oriented design and abstraction for real-time embedded platform.
  • 5+ years’ experience of managing a team of engineers of varied skill sets
  • Ability to understand electro-mechanical robotics platform and how components interact.
  • Working knowledge of device integration and common communications busses (CAN, I2C, SPI, Serial).
  • Experience with Real-time operating systems and Linux.
  • Strong technical, project, and people leadership capabilities.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with internal clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects.
  • Experience with Atlassian product suite (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
