Position Description:
Applies data analysis techniques and visualization tools to support Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes across the organization using Python Informatica Power Center Designer, MS Power BI, and Tableau -- turning unrelated sources of data into coherent, immersive, and interactive insights. Uses standardized programming languages SQL, PL/SQL, and Python to coordinate relational databases and perform data operations. Presents data analysis insights to stakeholders using MS Office tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Defines and documents data process flows using Visio, PowerPoint, and Atlassian Confluence. Develops dashboards and the custom rules engines that support them in an Agile environment (Scrum and Kanban).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Business partners, Squad, and Chapter Leads on converting business requirements to conceptual data models.
- Drives functional and non-functional data requirements of a system and defines the data delivery strategy, standards, and support tools.
- Combines and distills data into insightful summaries for customers to leverage in their decision processes.
- Consults with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
- Performs sophisticated data analysis and presents findings to support recommendations.
- Resolves internal requirements for data controls and exception reporting.
- Authors and executes data queries while summarizing or drawing conclusions from the data using SQL Developer, and SQL-Stored Procs/Packages.
- Develops, documents, and revises system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
- Provides mentorship for Data Quality (DQ) leading practices, governance, standards, and conventions.
- Partners with data architecture and development resources to ensure validity and quality of data.
- Participates in work stream planning process using Agile and Kanban methodologies.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Technology Management, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) analyzing and designing financial data solutions using SQL, Informatica, and SnapLogic within a financial services-based Highly Regulated Environment (HRE).
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) analyzing and designing financial data solutions using SQL, Informatica, and SnapLogic within a financial services-based Highly Regulated Environment (HRE).
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) analyzing data using Oracle, SQL DB, and Business Intelligence (BI) Data warehousing tools -- Informatica and SnapLogic -- to support data architecture and design for an enterprise financial Operational Data Store (ODS).
- DE performing data mapping, modeling, and design to build secure applications in an Agile, Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), or Kanban operating model using Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) level security.
- DE creating data visualization dashboards and performing analytical reporting to support data driven decision making and insights within a financial reference data space, using MS Power BI and Tableau.
- DE performing Business Data profiling/cleansing and Source System Study and Analysis (SSA) of financial reference data to avoid data anomalies and ensure data quality, using SQL Server, PL/SQL, and Teradata.
