Who are we looking for :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Network Engineer with a strong emphasis on automation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining on-premise and cloud-based network solutions while leveraging automation tools and scripting techniques to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Who will you work with :

All consumer-facing engineering teams: this role will work with Application Engineering, SRE, Platform Engineering and Enterprise Architecture teams along with engineering management and key development leaders to deliver Network capability products to market quickly, efficiently, and reliably.
 

Product and Program management across Nike: this role and team
play a pivotal role in defining technology direction and solution alternatives
to deliver products to market in alignment with Nike’s platform strategy while
meeting business and market requirements.
 

This role will be responsible for outlining dependencies for integration, technical evolution, engineering, and network operation of Cloud access solutions.

What will you work on:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based network infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure environments, leveraging advanced networking capabilities and best practices.

• Develop automation scripts and workflows using Python or other programming languages to automate network provisioning, configuration, and monitoring tasks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement best practices for network automation, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) provisioning.

• Implement and maintain automated pipeline solutions using Jenkins or similar tools to facilitate continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) for network infrastructure.

• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability, utilizing network automation techniques.

• Configure and manage Cisco routing (including BGP protocol) and switching technologies, with a preference for candidates holding CCNP or higher certification.

• Implement and manage firewall and load balancer configurations to ensure security and high availability of network services.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to enhance network automation capabilities and drive innovation in cloud networking.

• Document network designs, configurations, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain system integrity.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer in a cloud environment, with a focus on automation.

• Strong understanding of cloud networking principles and architectures, with AWS Advanced Networking and/or Azure Network Engineer Associate certifications preferred.

• Proficiency in Python or other programming languages for automation tasks.

• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) provisioning and management.

• Experience with automated pipeline tools, with Jenkins preferred.

• Demonstrated expertise in network automation, including automated workflows and scripting.

• Proficient in Cisco routing protocols, particularly BGP, with CCNP or higher certification preferred.

• Knowledge of firewall technologies and load balancers, including configuration and management in cloud environments.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
