Job Description:
We’re seeking a Principal AI Infrastructure Engineer to architect, scale, and optimize the backend infrastructure powering our enterprise GenAI platform.
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll design distributed systems for AI/ML at scale, optimize infrastructure for large model workloads, and drive innovation at the intersection of cloud engineering and AI. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the infrastructure behind next-generation GenAI products.
Responsibilities:
Lead the architecture and delivery of highly scalable, cloud-native, and cloud-agnostic infrastructure supporting AI/ML workflows.
Design and implement backend systems optimized for GenAI workloads, including large-scale model training, tuning, and serving.
Partner with Product, Applied Research, and Engineering teams to influence platform direction and technical strategy.
Champion operational excellence in automation, security, networking, observability, and cost optimization.
Mentor engineers, promote best practices, and help grow a strong technical culture.
Participate in on-call rotation as needed to ensure platform reliability and incident management.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience building and operating scalable, high-performance cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong background in distributed systems, network architecture, and security best practices.
Familiarity with service mesh (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) and API gateways (e.g., Kong, Traefik).
Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience, including large-scale AI/ML or data platform deployments.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience building and optimizing infrastructure for training, fine-tuning, and deploying LLMs in production.
Knowledge of orchestration frameworks like Flyte, Kubeflow, or MLflow.
Deep understanding of SRE/DevOps principles, including automation, observability, and incident response at scale.
Previous experience in a high-growth startup or enterprise AI/SaaS environment.
