The RoleAs a Principal Geoscience Consultant, you will provide seismic processing and Imaging Services to large Oil & Gas companies helping them achieve and enhance their return on investment for their seismic program using AspenTech’ s advanced seismic processing, velocity model building, seismic imaging, and seismic characterization technology. Candidate will conduct project work on behalf of that client, producing deliverables suitable for interpretation and prospecting.Your Impact- Supports clients locally by working collaboratively to solve complex subsurface imaging issues with state-of-the art software, properly using company resources, company processes and systems for project management, project execution, and project reporting. Sees projects to completion with high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Works with customers and AspenTech senior team technical members to solve advanced problems collaboratively. Works with seismic processing team members to ensure that the seismic data preparation and conditioning is suitable for velocity model building and depth imaging objectives.
- Meets regularly with customer geoscientists assigned to the project who are decision makers and must approve all deliverables generated by AspenTech. Communicates findings to AspenTech management to ensure project objectives are being met. Delivers weekly activity reports. Actively monitors adherence to contractual obligations including billing and communicates potential gaps to management. Delivers accurate and timely project reports.
- Initiates, validates, and publishes weekly project reports.
- Serves as subject matter expert to execute projects to a successful and on-time project outcome.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or Geosciences or Master’s degree in Geophysics in lieu of experience.
- Minimum of 9+ years’ experience in seismic processing and imaging, with 2+ years’ experience in velocity model building and depth imaging
- Experience with all styles of onshore and offshore seismic acquisitions.
- Experience with Echo’s® Seismic Processing Software, GeoDepth® Velocity Model Building and Imaging software, and EarthStudy 360® full azimuth imaging in the Local Angle Domain (or their equivalents).
- May require a minimum amount of travel.
- Advanced written and verbal skills in English
- Project Management and Leadership skills are core skills for the job
