The Autodesk Building Design team is part of a global, cross-functional organization dedicated to helping architects and engineers design better, more sustainable buildings. The team works in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with product management, UX, and engineering colleagues across multiple locations.
Based in Bucharest, this role is part of an international setup with strong local ownership and autonomy. The team values collaboration, technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and a healthy balance between focus time and teamwork.
This position follows a hybrid working model, with on-site presence required once or twice per month maximum in the Bucharest office.
Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join the Building Design team in Bucharest.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of the next generation of Autodesk Insight, a cloud-based service integrated with Autodesk Revit that enables architects and engineers to design more energy-efficient buildings using advanced simulation engines and performance data.
You will work across the full stack, collaborating with product owners, experience designers, and other engineers to design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available cloud services. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful products, while benefiting from a flexible hybrid setup and clear, well-defined operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, secure, and stable software solutions
Contribute to system design and architecture, applying cloud and web design best practices throughout the development lifecycle
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability
Improve engineering processes, tooling, and delivery practices to increase team efficiency and responsiveness
Research, evaluate, and recommend technologies, tools, and standards to support engineering efforts
Produce clear technical documentation and communicate solutions effectively within the team
Support deployment, release, and production readiness activities
Participate in an on-call rotation approximately once per month during weekday working hours and Occasional weekend coverage - All on-call time is fully compensated, in accordance with local policies
Collaborate closely with teammates, mentor others when appropriate, and actively contribute to Agile ceremonies and team meetings
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
+5 years of experience building and maintaining web-based applications
Solid understanding of web application architecture (data, application, and presentation layers)
Strong experience with core web technologies: HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with at least one modern frontend framework or library (React, Angular, or Vue)
Experience designing and developing secure and scalable backend services
Understanding of web communication protocols (HTTP, REST APIs, WebSockets)
Experience with automated testing practices, including unit testing and/or TDD
Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-based applications
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and deployment pipelines
Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform
Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments
Strong communication skills, autonomy, empathy, and a collaborative working style
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Node.js and/or Python
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, or Batch
Exposure to microservices architecture and container technologies (Docker)
Experience with Jenkins or similar CI tools
Familiarity with secure development lifecycle practices
Experience with frontend and backend testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Cypress, XUnit)
Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, or C++
Previous experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
