Opportunity :
Parsons is now hiring for a Principal Environmental Planner to lead various projects supporting our infrastructure division in California. This role is based in our Pasadena office.
This role offers hybrid remote working ( meaning allowed to work from home 2-3 days per week).
Responsibilities :
- Prepare scopes of work for environmental tasks including technical studies to be prepared, identification of proper level of CEQA/NEPA environmental documents, levels of efforts to complete documents, etc.
- Prepare cost estimates in support of environmental task scopes of work.
- Prepare CEQA and NEPA environmental documents: PES, PEAR, IS, EIR, CE, EA, and EIS.
- Research literature, websites to gather statistics and related data for environmental documents.
- Conduct field work activities and studies as it relates to transportation projects and State and Federal environmental requirements.
- Make observations, collect data, take photos, perform analysis, and maintain documentation.
- Prepare mapping and exhibits, preferable through ArcGIS or Adobe Illustrator for reports and presentations.
- Prepare and produce reports in accordance with Caltrans Standard Environmental Reference guidelines or through approved agency templates.
- Conduct environmental impact analyses for various environmental resources.
- Attend agency or public meetings.
- Organize data and prepare detailed spreadsheets for cost estimating.
- Specialized skills in mitigation monitoring, biology, cultural, or air quality would be desirable, but not necessary.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
4-year degree in Urban/Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences or related field and at least 10 years or more of related work experience.
Thorough knowledge of urban/environmental planning practices and procedures
Proficiency in utilizing PC and various software packages typically used in urban/environmental planning assignments is required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Thorough understanding of local statutes and environmental rules and regulations
Proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project
Experience with MS Project, ARCGIS, and Adobe Illustrator is desirable

Salary Range:
$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
