Overview

Enterprise Architecture work involves developing high level frameworks that align an organization’s IT applications, infrastructure with business processes/data to improve the efficiency and productivity of business operations including:

•Mapping the relationships between information systems components (i.e., end users, business processes, applications, data, IT platform hardware/software, and networks)

•Identifying key interactions and dependencies across separate systems and platforms

•Evaluating the total cost of ownership and return on investment of various architecture alternatives.

The Principal Enterprise Architect will support initiatives across different functional areas such as Health Plans, Clinical Systems, Corporate Systems, Technology & Operations.

Architect:

· Analyze the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.

· Define reference models, standards, patterns, best practices, and position papers.

· Define target state architecture, blueprints, roadmaps for business/technology application portfolios / platforms to enable business strategy and deliver targeted business outcomes.

· Evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards and the design of standard configurations.

· Consult with application development projects to fit systems to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.

· Consult with infrastructure development projects to fit the infrastructure to the architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs.

Lead:

· Lead the evolution of the EA function, including coordinating with other architects (e.g., application, domain, solution, security) in pursuit of balanced enterprise architecture viewpoints.

· Assess (via appropriate measurements) and communicate the achievement and impact of the EA.

· Lead and mentor solution architects, engineers, and individuals.

Govern:

· Contribute to the creation of governing principles to guide enterprise information, technology, and solution decision-making.

· Guide other Architects and IT teams on the ARB governance structure, processes, and lead compliance activities (exception and exemption handling) associated with ensuring compliance with the EA.

Communicate:

· Promote EA — its processes, outcomes, and lasting results — to other architecture, engineering, project management and operations teams.

· Contribute to the development and execution of a communication (including education) plan for the EA.

· Communicate cross-functionally on the vision and provide presentations of the proposed solution.

Program Execution:

· Lead projects / initiatives to design, and implement cloud-based solutions, including reference architectures, estimates, and costs.

· Act as a subject matter expert on Cloud best practices within and outside the organization.

· Perform analysis of best practices and emerging concepts in Cloud-based technologies, both internally and externally hosted.

· Act as a technical liaison between customer support services, product and service engineering teams.

· Review and audit existing solutions, design, and system architecture.

· Perform profiling and troubleshooting of existing solutions.

· Create technical documentation.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
8+ years of relevant experience with a degree 
10+ years of relevant experience without a degree 

Certification/Licensure

Preferred AWS/Azure/Google Professional Architect certification

Experience Requirements

· Five or more years of experience in Enterprise Architecture.

· Five or more years of experience in Software development.

· Hands-on Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) is required.

· Proven experience in designing and architecting solutions and processes, preferably in a large-scale healthcare organization (Payor or Hospital).

· Ten or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, security, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment.

· Deep knowledge of value stream maps, persona development, design thinking, customer journey, etc.

· Experience in technologies such as mobile, AI, data center, infrastructure, cloud, data streaming, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, edge computing and digital experiences technologies.

· Experience in applications (e.g., QNXT, Jiva, Epic, Workday, Strata, ServiceNow, etc.) pertaining to areas such as Enrollment, Claims management, Provider engagement, Patient care, Clinical Support, Pharmacy, Revenue cycle or Supply chain management is preferred.

· Experience with tools such as Confluence, Jira, draw.io, SharePoint, Mural etc.,

· Experience with Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, DODAF, Zachman, FEAF etc.

· Experience modeling architecture viewpoints in EA tools

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$106,080.00-$176,820.80. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
