EROAD is searching for an outstanding Principal Engineer specialising in Frontend and Mobile to join our global technology team. This is a critical, high-impact role shaping the front lines of our platform used by thousands worldwide.
About the Role
As our Principal Engineer, you’ll be the technical go-to expert and an inspirational leader across all things Frontend and Mobile. Reporting to the Chapter Lead of Principal Engineering, you will drive deep architectural and technical decisions, provide mentorship, and deliver hands-on solutions to our most challenging engineering problems. Your influence will be felt across squads, domains, and the entire product lifecycle—helping EROAD deliver exceptional products at scale.
What You’ll Do
Lead by Example: Guide teams in designing and architecting scalable, secure, and maintainable frontend and mobile solutions. Drive the adoption of engineering excellence and best practices.
Hands-On Engineering: Stay close to the code—reviewing pull requests, evaluating new libraries and technologies, and prototyping innovative new features.
Mentor & Coach: Empower and elevate other senior engineers, fostering technical growth through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate & Influence: Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Architecture to align and unify technical approaches, standards, and priorities.
Strategic Impact: Shape the technical direction of our mobile and web platforms, ensuring they’re robust, innovative, and aligned with EROAD’s long-term goals.
Champion Quality: Lead improvements in performance, reliability, testing, and overall code quality. Set the bar high!
Drive Innovation: Advocate for new tools, frameworks, and methods that will future-proof our technology ecosystem.
About You
Significant experience architecting and developing advanced Frontend and Mobile solutions (using modern frameworks such as React, React Native, Java/Kotlin for Android, Swift, Flutter, or similar).
A proven history of technical leadership—mentoring, influencing, and driving best practices across large engineering teams.
Deep understanding of scalable web and mobile architectures, performance optimization, quality assurance, and security.
Collaborative, pragmatic and excited to work in a culture that values rapid delivery, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Previous experience partnering with Architecture, Product, and DevOps teams in a mature technology organisation.
