Quince is a retail and technology company co-founded by a team that has extensive experience in retail, technology and building early stage companies. You’ll work with a team of world-class talent from Stanford GSB, Wish.com, D.E. Shaw, Stitch Fix, Urban Outfitters, Wayfair, McKinsey, Nike etc. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, problem-solver and successful in combining technology and data into best-in-class outcomes. The candidate is energized by solving complex business problems and consistently effective in making high-judgment decisions at rapid pace amidst the frequent ambiguity that comes with charting a course of action with no precedent. Moreover, the ideal candidate is energized by an environment where strategy, innovation and decision-making are intentionally distributed, where candor, speed and data are highly valued and colleagues at all levels hold each other to unusually high standards on behalf of Quince customers.

Role (What will you do):

1. Propose a long term strategy for the App/Service and drive its fitment into the technology vision

2. Propose projects centered around improving the service(s) and /or fixing design deficiencies.

3. Understand the product impact and take a sound technical decision based on trade-offs in the short/long term

4. Influence the solution design and define a vision for Engineering Team

5. Accountable for non-functional aspects of the services and strive to improve on key technical metrics

(e.g.: availability, scalability, reliability)

6. Lead the way by writing exemplary code that is optimal, easy to test, and maintain

7. Exhibit proficiency in creating RFCs that compare the trade-off between opensource tools and help adopt them in the best way

8. Establish quality standards and SDLC practices within your area

9. Mentor other members in the team and provide guidance/training to help them improve in their professional path (via tech talks, blogs)

Skills : (What do you need to demonstrate consistently)

1. Produce artifacts that are reusable across the teams

2. Show technical entrepreneurship (scrappy) in solving problems

3. Showcase excellence in establishing & following technical practices that lead to cost reduction/improvement in quality

4. Play a significant role in mentoring not only within the team but is looked out for across the sub-department

5. Actively participate and contribute to technical decisions that impact the service(s) positively

6. Contribute to Technical branding for the firm by posting and participating social platforms
