Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Systems - IPT Lead that is ready to work across functions to help drive test equipment design, hardware movement in the factory/test, document issues, and drive improvement plans. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for high visibility program with time-critical elements.
Interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.
Brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.
Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.
The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented with effective verbal and written communication skills.
This role is contingent upon candidates having an Active DoD Secret Clearance, and the ability to achieve SAP Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM-related discipline with 5 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 3 years industry experience (with a BS in STEM). An additional 4 years of experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
Must have a current/active Secret clearance to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and obtain and maintain an SAP clearance for continued employment.
General Knowledge of Test Equipment design and manufacturing
1-year minimum as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or equivalent where responsibilities included: project planning, cost & schedule management including tracking, team tasking / leadership, and status reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience moving hardware through the BWI factory and test
Experience reporting project status to program, functional management and customers
Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Experience driving recovery through development and execution of return to green plans
Knowledge of Risk and Opportunity management
PMP certification a plus
Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus
