Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. Conducts software inspection, testing, verification and validation. Implements software development and maintenance processes and methods. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract. Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation plans to assist program activities for processing software and materials into partially finished or finished products.
- Collaborate with Program and Engineering management on program quality planning and the establishment of program quality objectives.
- Work with the Engineering Process Group, collaborate with software engineering and systems engineering functions to ensure quality standards are in place and followed.
- Assist with verification and acceptance testing of software and system products.
- Support Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) AS9100 audit activities and audit quality systems for nonconformance identification and correction action.
- Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable quality standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- Assist Software Engineering in collecting and reporting metrics.
- Cross-train in the hardware quality engineering department to support when required.
- Provide Quality support and assistance to electronics manufacturing and repair teams to include Technicians, Engineers, and Inspectors.
- Populate and maintain Corrective Action databases, HQMS (Harrington Quality Manufacturing Systems), to track nonconformance data and trends.
- Support Quality Assurance inspection activities when required to include performing or assisting with First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Coordinate nonconformance containment and corrective action implementation activities.
- Support the Program, Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams with data analytics for improvement processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering or other Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM)-related field. Bachelor's + 5 years of exp: Master's + 3 years of exp; PhD + 0 years of exp.
- TS Clearance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software development processes including Agile, Waterfall, and Spiral using Jira, Bitbucket, ClearQuest, ClearCase at a minimum.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
- Demonstrated experience in the collection of software data and metrics for reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in performing process and product evaluations.
- Conducted internal audits (AS9100, In-Process, Factory Accountability).
- Has knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action methods.
Salary Range: $93,000.00 - $139,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
