About the Role
The Principal Engineer Service now works as part of the Digital Automations and Integrations technology team to lead the design, creation, and maintenance of ServiceNow automation solutions.
What You Will Do
Define and drive the automation roadmap using ServiceNow capabilities, including Flow Designer, Orchestration, IntegrationHub, and RPA.
Design end-to-end automation solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and business requirements.
Develop, configure, and maintain custom workflows, scripts, and automations.
Manage automation-related projects from conception to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, process owners, and IT teams to identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
Ensure adherence to organizational best practices and governance standards, including code reviews, documentation, and change control.
Stay current on ServiceNow product releases, automation trends, and emerging technologies to continuously improve automation practice area capabilities.
What You Need to Be Successful
10+ years of experience designing/developing complex ServiceNow business automation solutions.
8+ years of experience developing enterprise solutions with SaaS-based automation systems.
Strong understanding of the ServiceNow data model, scripting, and platform architecture.
Stay current on ServiceNow product releases, automation trends, and emerging technologies to continuously improve platform capabilities.
Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and external automation tools.
Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone and clarity, along with expertise in Word and PowerPoint.
Experience in a corporate setting and comfort interacting with people at all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational abilities.
Confidence working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, often with ambiguity and requiring the ability to pivot.
Empathy for colleagues in different circumstances, enabling you to tailor materials to their needs.
Experience working in a distributed multinational team environment.
Bonus Points if You Have
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and one or more advanced certifications (i.e., Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist).
Experience with ServiceNow RPA Hub or third-party RPA tools (UIPath, Automation Anywhere).
Proficiency in creating AI agents and bots.
Experience in global, multicultural companies.
